I’m Marc, a producer and sample archaeologist based in West Bloomfield, just outside Detroit. I started Marc Jason’s Boutique to rebuild hip hop’s greatest sample collage — the kind of layered, left-field flipping you hear on Paul’s Boutique, Dilla’s beat tapes, and the records that made me fall in love with production. This site is for producers who want more than loops. You want the story, the context, and the technique behind how classic records were really made.

The Detroit Advantage isn’t just geography. Growing up in Dilla’s backyard means I heard how jazz, soul, and Motown got chopped into something new. That approach — treat every record like raw material, stack textures, hide easter eggs — is what I teach here. You’ll get full Paul’s Boutique-style deconstructions, Detroit-flipped sample breakdowns, and Ableton/MPC templates you can pull apart and make your own. No gatekeeping. No “secret sauce.” Just the actual process.

If you’re trying to level up from beatmaker to producer, start with the Shake Your Rump 2026 Rebuild Pack on the homepage. I break down every layer so you can see how the collage works, then flip it yourself. New deconstructions and sample stories drop weekly. Questions?
